#1 - AO game - (simple version - lol)

Fantasy Open.

Take your opick from the top 100 players, one in each group of ten from 0 - 100.

eg:-

One player from rank 1 - 10
One player from rank 11 - 20
One player from rank 21 - 30

etc etc etc.

List of top 100 players here ..... http://espn.go.com/tennis/rankings (Just seen that on that list there is no rank 21 !!!!, oh well, it matters not unless its someone you want to pick)

No limit on the choices, we can all have the same top 10 pick.

Each player scores thus...

plus 10 points getting through 1st round - minus 5 for losing
plus 20 for 2nd round - minus 10 for losing
plus 30 for 3rd round - minus 15 for losing
plus 40 for 4th round - minus 20 for losing

plus 50 for QF - minus 25
plus 60 for semis - minus 30
plus 100 for final - minus 50 for loss.

I'll start the ball rolling.

#0 - Andy Murray +10, +20, +30, +40, +50
#1 - Alexandr Dolgopolov +10, +20, -15 END
#2 - Kei Nishikori +10, +20, +30, +40, -25 END
#3 - Bernard Tomic +10, +20, +30, -20 END
#4 - Michael Llodra +10, +20, -15 END
#5 - Nikolay Davydenko -5 END
#6 - Guillermo Garcia-Lopez -5 END
#7 - Grigor Dimitrov +10, -10 END
#8 - Ryan Harrison -5 END
#9 - Mikhail Kukushkin +10, +20, +30, -20 END

Not sure how the scoring will develop, but I can/will change it for next event. (and/or amalgamate it with MTS1's version) only by popular demand of course !

Will post the singles draw PDF picture on Friday at some point when it is announced.

URGENT REQUEST
Dear Fellow Game Players,
Just noticed Wardy is in the draw, can I propose that my pick for 91-100 can be replaced by someone ranked lower, sort of like a wildcard. I would much prefer to put my support behind the Brits and select Wardy as my last pick, can I, can I, can I (pleeeeeeeeeeeeezzzzzzzeeeeeeeeee)

OK, now the draws are out, we have potential matchups from our picks, and are as follows for the 1st round.....

Mahut v Stepanek (mts1 v boo)

Murray v Harrison (jubba v jubba)

Lopez v Kukushkin (jubba v jubba again doh!)

Tomic v Verdasco (sol v sol v mts1 v jubba)

Chardy v Dimitrov (sol v sol [lol, you're as bad as me] v jubba)

Neiminen v Nalbandian (boo v mts1 v m4c)

I think I got that right eventually.

That'll teach me to pick before the draw !!!

(will revise if anyone gets their picks in before tonight)

Ooooo this makes it so much more competative Very Happy

lol! Jubba when the draw came out I seen Andy was against Harrison, and thought you may have changed your picks, didn't notice Sol had also picked against herself.

goodluck fellow gamesters as long as all wins lead to an Andy triumph on final Sunday I'll be very happy.

Bet Sol & Jubba are glad they didn't make a boob like that over on v2.

Tenez & Co would have gone wild!- however we are much more forgiving here lol!

see this is why I thought it would be better to wait until after the draw before picking. However, there is a certain merit to picking against yourself, as it at leats guarantees you a positive score for that round...

True M4C, but I didnt reckon on the chances of having two H2H's in the 1st round !

But I suppose 10 picks in a 100 thats a 1 in 10 odds of a meeting.

I seriously don't understand this. Please, don't even attempt to explain it to me .

I really don't mind if I come last.

OK, I'm just orf to score the 1st bottom half round........

Post on Mon 16 Jan 2012 - 19:13 by Jubbahey

Scores on the doors so far.....

Solerina +45
BOO +45
MTS1 +40
M4C +25
Jubba +25

So its halfway in the first round and Sol and BOO are steaming ahead, but that may change round tomorrow when the other 'arf are played out.

Looks like BOO managed to strategically get the best placings of picks in each half, with MTS1 and M4C close by, but me and sol are going to plummet drastically during the second week.

So even though we (Jubba and Sol) may score high this week, next week will show the more evenly balanced picks will score more, I predict.

lol! Sol sometimes that is a good thing. You may just win Very Happy

Another of my picks Mahut putting out a seeded player, yip yip and double yip Very Happy

I do however have a clash in the next round- at least I'm sure of two picks going through one from that match and one of course being Andy!! Bit of a bonus he isn't meeting Malisse next but the World #101, hopefully that match doesn't go longer that 2 hours max.
