Rome 1000 event

Post by Jubbahey on Thu 10 May 2012 - 20:58

The penultimate event for Andy before the Roland Garros slam.

http://www.internazionalibnlditalia.com/

He has already arrived and is practising on the red stuff, but says he's not happy with the surface.

Lets hope it doesnt affect his preparation for the French open too much.

A load of qualifying today, Sat 12th.

With Harrison fighting it out with Hanescu.
Querry V Bolleli,
Gulbis V Giraldo.

No sight of the main draw yet, as of 12:50pm, even though the event says it took place last Saturday, LOL, the TV coverage has no info and the Romans seem to be taking part in some kind of National laid back day or something, as the whole tournament doesn't appear to have got going yet, or at least the web site is half asleep.

Must be the local wine. drunken Sleep

Finally...

http://www.internazionalibnlditalia.com/Share/Event-Draws.aspx?EventId=0416&Year=2012

So it looks like Murray adversary may well be Nalby, the qualifier he's playing is not registered yet, but I bet David will get through him.

Next seed will be Gasquet, who's put in some good matches on clay this year, that may be a tough cookie to crack.

After that, its Simon or Ferrer, followed by a probable quarter final fight with Nadal.

Semis are up for grabs in the top half.

Surely he won't meet Nadal until the semis?

Andy Murray in Second Round action tomorrow afternoon against David Nalbandian. By my calculations he will be on court at around 3pm (UK time).

It gets better for Andy Murray - another break and leads 4-0. A bakery product on offer soon? Solid start by Andy and hitting his shots with a lot of venom but Nalby is contributing to his own downfall.

Nalbandian gets a break back and Andy leads 4-1. A loose service game there.

A marathon sixth game lasting around 16 minutes has been won by Andy Murray to break serve and pull out into a 5-1 lead.

A breadstick for Andy to win the first set 6-1 against David Nalbandian. A nice birthday present for him.

Passivity costing Andy again in that second set and Nalbandian breaks to win the set 6-4 and we go into a deciding set.

Nalbandian leads 5-4 and still going with serve. Andy about to serve to stay in the match. It has been a cracking match with many great rallies and shots played.

Murray breaks with a dead let-chord winner and gets booed for it but will now serve for the match.
