Djoko looking far more secure on his serve than Andy and holds again with the minimum of fuss - 3-3.

And Djoko forces another two break points in game seven and Murray nets on the first of them and Djokovic leads 4-3 and is to serve. Can he do what Murray couldn't in the second set and serve out for the Championship? On the evidence so far in this set I would say he can.

Djoko gets taken to deuce in the next game though but his serve fires to bring him through and he leads 5-3.

Djoko prizes out three championship points on Murray's next service game and finally the Serb seals the win. All credit to Novak - a great battling display by him. Murray will kick himself as it was a match he had in the palm of his hands and let it slip. A high quality match that could have gone either way but in the end the title eluded Andy and he'll be very frustrated right now. No chronic big deal as he competed very well.

Yes but wouldn't read much into that. It was a long gruelling, testing match. This was one that got away for Andy but it was one of those matches that could have gone either way.

5 Championship points lost but it really could have gone either way and they both deserved to win.

Never mnd he still has the one that matters and that's the USO

Looks like a great future rivalry for both - hope Andy gets him in London and WINS it!

That would be the icing on the cake for 2012 BOO.

Andy did seem a bit vacant in those closing two games, still, never mind, job done on Novaks part, a nice little piece of cold revenge.

Good news for Watson though, a milestone in her career.

The only real difference between them was how they served out for the sets. Andy's serve came apart when serving for the second set and he lost it in an epic tie-break in the end. Djokovic was similarly placed in the third set but there were no wobbles and sealed the win.

I thought Andy looked totally exhausted in the last few games. Not surprising as he is still presumably recovering from the virus infection that was making him cough so much in the first few matches.

The latter stages of the match today did show Andy to be getting worse (tired) as you said D and I tend to agree.

It is doubtful that he would use the "viral issue" as an excuse, but if it was to have had a bearing on the result that could only be good for what's coming up.

He was so close today and played some exceptional tennis not just today but also yesterday, against the top two players in the World.

Therefore things can surely only get better, let's hope this is the case!

Roll on the O2.

It also surely beneficial to him that he is now working with a sports psychologist - the same one that helped Ivan Lendl apparently.
