Basel - A Swiss Adventure

Post by Jubbahey on Sat 20 Oct 2012 - 16:15

Indoors, no rain or wind or sounds of car horns, Basel begins on Monday.

A miserly 500 event, but one that Andy did not play last year, so there are points to be had.

But Andy has withdrawn, citing back problems.

tch!

Typical, as soon as I go publish, a more press worthy piece of news hits the streets.

Shame, but his physical well being is far more important than a 500 event to be fair. He doesn't want to exacerbate a back problem with Paris and London very close coming up.

And I suppose he will want to be 100% fit starting the new year in and his push to the top ranking spot.

Bet old Rogers glad he isn't playing - Best to save himself for Paris or better still London.

Yes BOO, it would be brill for him to finish the year on a high and seal a great part of his career with a title win hopefully.

A very wise move and understandable. It isn't a Masters1000 tournament so why bother especially if you have a niggling injury. Remember that his WTF was scuppered last year due to injury so he won't want that to happen again.
