LTA's ultimatum

The LTA are under intense scrutiny in the next few weeks, to provide and deliver an increase in the sports participation levels.

In the report above, it seems that they have the girls section sewn up, but if they can't be seen to have overhauled the overall amount of youngsters playing the game, thenĀ  the will be a hug deficit cut from their funding from Sport England.

This could have heavy ramifications on the future of the LTA, as there are a number of alternative groups offering free tennis. If their funding is increased due to favourable rising figures, they could come into direct competition with the LTA.

This could be a good thing, as historically, the LTA have been seen to have wasted tax payers money, but other groups have given the impression that they have spent their funds on better projects. The more funding these peripheral groups get, the better imo, more choice = more potential avenues to succeed.
