I see (Norman) Bates is putting the kibosh on Watson, saying she can win this match easily. Evil or Very Mad

I can't see any other result other than a Sharapova win now I am afraid as Sharapova races away with the second set leading 4-1. Watson will be feeling tired in that third set and Sharapova will move in for the kill. I do hope I am wrong but it is like a case of deja vu when it comes to British players (Murray aside).

How can they possibly justify that timing, he's going to be very busy come the weekend.

And there was me thinking they liked the guy. Still, its something for socal to use as "evidence" the draw is rigged.

End of the day it doesn't matter who each player gets in the semis as there is no easy draw at that stage.

I don't think the draw is rigged, but as for the schedule, they shamelessly rig it every year! Though I notice this year, for I think the very first time, Roddick was not playing on the first day. There have been years when he has finished his second round match before some have played their first.

Caught the last of an interview on sky earlier where Murray said he wasn't bothered about playing Wednesday as he had to do this previously but it would be good if the schedulars kept to each side of the draw on consequtive days and not all over the place. I still don't think they'll use Murray as the big draw on Arthur Ashe on Wednesday evening, Fed will go in again. Murray possibly on in the height of the midday sun...again.....silent

It seems clear to me that Mardy Fish (who got show-court as well on Day One) was in a slot that should have gone to one of the other top three seeds. with two of the top four seeds playing yesterday and the other two of the top four seeds playing today.

Djokovic coasts through benefiting from the retired ill Conor Niland when leading 6-0 5-1.

Apparently, the order of play is out for tomorrow and Andy Murray will be on Arthur Ashe Court but not before 18.00 BST.

Thanks Craig, I don't think I'll be able to wtch it as I don't have Sky and it's not on bet365.....but I can look on here to see how Andy's playing. At least I won't have to spend the evening behind my sofa hiding

Novak

Didn't want to upset socal & nitb over on 606v2 but I doubt if there is much wrong with his shoulder after watching him.

OK his opponent wasn't fully fit but there was absolutely nowt wrong with his serve.

As I said after Cincy the main reason he retired was he just ran out of gas!

Pretty evident so far that much of the men's matches have gone to form. The only seeds to go out so far is Mikhail Youzhny (No.16), Viktor Troicki (No.15) and Dodig (No.32 seed).

Baltacha trough in a drama filled last set game, when jamie hampton collapsed on the baseline. Heat stroke maybe, or just plain cream crackered.
