Djokovic and his rupture.

Now that Djokovic is nearly at the end of his recuperation from a back strain or more accurately, a back muscle rupture, he should be fit for Paris, unless he tries out his back at a 500 like Valencia, but seeing it is a shoulder injury, there may be some pain involved when he gets back to professional competition.

I hope he hasn't created a weak spot in his shoulder, as Nadal with his knees had to lose some weight and remould his serve, because this could seriously undermine his comeback and put him back a year.

I've had a look at ruptured/torn/pulled muscles..... [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] ....but what it doesn't say is that once scar tissue has formed, even though it makes that bit of the muscle less prone to injury, it puts strain on the other fibres close to the original site. So it can re-appear looking like a similar injury but it is related to a different part of the muscle group.

But is it muscle or tendon rupture ?

The fact the played an event when he shouldn't have might show it is only muscular, lets hope so.

What ever the real source of the problem and the fact that he has been out for some time, its going to be touch and go for him to come back playing as well as he did for the first 9 months of this year which were amazing.
